FAQs
Wikefield Farm is situated on the North side of Leeds, West Yorkshire on the A61 about a mile from Harewood House, the postal code is LS17 9JZ. Wikefield is on the main public transport route with a convenient bus stop just outside the entrance to the farm.
On weekdays the farm is open from early morning to 9pm while on weekends this is from early morning to 6pm. Don’t worry if you are going to a competition as access to the farm can be arranged outside of these times.
We aim to have horses turned out in small groups wherever possible. If your horse requires individual turnout this can be arranged and is usually next to fields containing other horses to allow your horses to see other horses.
In the first instance contact the yard manager Barbara Harison Bland using the form on the Contact Us page. She will arrange for you to visit Wikefield and discuss any particular requirements you or your horse may have.
If you do decide to become part of our yard we will ask you to sign a contract when your horse arrives. One copy is for yourself and we keep a copy. We ask that all horses are kept fully insured especially for Public Liability. All horse must be inoculated with the prevac flu vaccine and are wormed on arrival. Please inform us of any infectious outbreaks on the yard you are leaving so that an informed decision may be taken for a safe arrival at Wikefield.
Many owners on the yard due to pressure of time or finances, choose to share the riding and cost of their horses with a suitable person using a loan agreement.
A set of Yard Rules and our Health and Safety document will also accompany your contract so that you have a comprehensive guide to our yard. In case of repairs or complaints we would ask you to speak to Michael or Barbara or email Barbara.
